Sayre loved her week at camp and will be going back in four weeks for another week. Here's a note from the farm outlining what she did all week:
Hello Camp Families!
Thank you all for sending your wonderful children for the first week of
farm camp! It was a terrific week, despite the rainy weather. We met a
lot of new faces, and got to see many old friends. The farm changes so
much from season to season and even week to week that there is always
something new to see. This week, we were able to experience many things
on the farm: new chicks, ducks, turkeys, and KITTENS! Just born this
week! We picked, ate and cooked many strawberries, and tasted a lot of
other spring crops on the farm: rhubarb, chives, sorrel, mint, and planted
other crops that will come up later in the season. We spent time in the
woods and stream making fairy houses, dams and racing boats. We made very
cool farm camp t-shirts and experimented with paints and bookmaking. We
fed pigs, chicks and ducks, and collected eggs to sell. It was a very
good start to the farm camp season, thank you all for sharing your
children with us for such a fun week! We hope to see them- and you-
either later in the summer or next year!
Enjoy the sun!
