We've been struggling with Sayre's throat, ears, cough...we know it's not her tonsils....but what is it that keeps causing her to have a runny nose, complain of ear pain, have tonsil stones, and have a dry cough?? Sounds like allergies. The Doctor put her on Nasonex last week, but nothing is changing. I was told to give it 14 days. Fine. Today she gets off the bus crying, complaining of ear pain. Off to the doctor we go. She has an ear infection, her third in 6 months. Why? That's what I asked. No real clear answer was given but she's now on antibiotics, Nasonex, and Zyrtec. We go back in 2 weeks.
She was very eager to take all her medicine tonight and she swallowed the Zyrtec pill like a champ! I remember learning to do that as a child and it wasn't that easy! I offered her apple sauce to take it with, but all she wanted was water. She put the pill in her mouth, took a sip of water, swallowed, and viola! Done. She's awesome.
Here's to hoping that the drug cocktail she is on produces some dramatic effects!!
