Chutney Update

So I got Chutney's blood work back yesterday.  Her thyroid levels were low and her liver values were slightly elevated.  This could mean 1 of 2 things (potentially): that she has a thyroid issue or that she has olfactory tumors (which are operable but we'd need to go to the neuro-clinic first).  We basically now have a few options:
  1. Wait and see if Chutney has another seizure then have this conversation all over again.
  2. Repeat the blood work in 2 weeks, see if anything changes, then have this conversation all over again.
  3. Start treating her for the thyroid issue, keeping our fingers crossed that it works and she doesn't have anymore seizures (and she looses some weight and her energy levels come back up)
  4. Go to the neuro-clinic to have them review the blood word and make recommendations.
Ryan's gut reaction last night was to treat her right now for the thyroid issue.  But I was leaning to waiting 2 weeks and repeating the blood work.  But today I've been doing some research about hypothyroidism in dogs and it seems (to me) that is what is going on with Chutney.  Hypothyroidism in dogs can cause seizures.  We'll see what the vet says when she calls me tomorrow.  To be continued....
