Tuesday morning Wyatt comes running into our room screaming "I had a tick on my head, I ripped it off, threw it in Sayre's bed and now we can't find it" Good morning Mom and Dad. I head down to Sayre's room, rip her bed apart and can't find the tick. Anywhere. Wyatt does have a small blood spot on this head and definitely looks like a tick was there. Life carries on.
Wednesday morning I have Sayre strip in my bathroom as I'm sure the tick has found its way to her over the night. Nothing on her body. I'm running my fingers through her hair vigorously and Wyatt screams that there is a spider on his hand and starts flailing wildly. I think nothing about it, ask if it was a big spider or small spider, it was a small spider apparently. Back to 80's hairband head thrashing with Sayre. Wyatt screams again about a spider on his hand and I look over and there's the tick! Apparently it was launched from Sayre's head to Wyatt's hand during the 80's hairband head thrashing.
I go to grab the tick, oh I'm so close, and Wyatt freaks out and the tick goes flying. Again. It's now no where to be seen. But I know it's in my bathroom. We all strip down. I'm shaking out our clothes. Nothing. I'm getting annoyed. Shacking out the clothes again and Sayre screams! There is it, crawling along the floor. I clear the area, send Sayre to get the flame thrower (you know that small candle lighter thing) and I watch the tick.....he's not getting away this time! When she returns to the bathroom we light that little sucker on fire and put an end to this tick story.
1 of 1,000,000 stories to come as the season is just starting and with no snow this winter the ticks are everywhere! Dun Dun Dun....
