Our home is in a thousand little pieces. Dad arrived on Friday and we've spent all weekend prepping the first floor for the painters, whom arrive on Monday morning.
We finished the wainscoting project in the entry way, removed the sink in the half bath (in order to change the faucet), removed the medicine cabinet from the half bath (which will be replaced with a standard mirror, we removed the light in the half bath, changed the location of all the electrical wiring for a new light, and put crown molding in the living room. We also patched all the nails holes and curtain rod holes.
Basically our first floor is a complete blank slate ready to be painted. We are so excited.
Dad ripped the light out of the center upper part of the wall and moved it over to the middle left of the wall. He then patched all the holes. We had to remove the sink in order to change the faucet so we decided to leave it down in order to make it easier to wallpaper the bathroom. This is the wallpaper that will be in the bathroom: Ginger Tree Designs
Crown molding went up in the living room. Corners are the most fun (pure sarcasm!) You can also see we were trying to decide between 3 different colors for this room. We put the 3 colors up in every possible location in order to decide.
Ryan loves crown molding corners! :)
We removed the curtain rods and patched the holes. The curtains are not going back up.
Ryan finished the wainscoting project.
Bathroom all patched up.
We had the center panels cut out and replaced with antique glass - we LOVE it!
We are having the fireplace trim and mantle beefed up a bit to make it more of a focal point. We are also going to paint the bricks black.
Many color swatches, crown molding up, and the chandelier is down. The chandelier that was in the kitchen will be going into the 'dining room' once the painting is done.
