We're heading to my Aunt's house in New York for the weekend. We're going to take the kids into the City, etc.
But on the way there we had to take the kids through our old stomping grounds. We stopped in West Hartford and Plainville - where we started it all! We even had lunch at Cosi, a favorite lunch spot for Ryan and I back in the day.
Also, since we were in Connecticut we had to stop by to visit our dear friends, the Bisbee's! Chris, Judy, Ryan, and I have been friends since Judy and I met at work in 2000. Chris and Judy got married a month after we met, Ryan and I got married a year later and it was great to have Judy and Chris attend. What a history we have!
Our first apartment together right out of college, in Plainville. We lived here from June 2000 - May 2001. We loved this place! We bought out first washer and dryer here and got our cat (Clyde) here. We loved this little 2-bedroom, 1 bathroom apartment.
Here's J. Timothy's, in Plainville. This restaurant was the first place we 'frequented' as young adults. It was literally across the street from our apartment complex (there is now also a Wendy's, Taco Bell, Jiffy Lube, and gas station across the street! Wow how things change.)
From the Plainville apartment we stepped it up a bit and moved to West Hartford. We lived on the first floor on this house from May 2001 - March 2004. It had a great back yard, walking distance to the downtown, and great character. We loved this apartment!
West Hartford has an amazing downtown. We spent a lot of time at Cosi, a great sandwich shop.
We then headed to Woodbury to visit with the Bisbee family. Ike will be 4 in February and Mia turned 1 back in August. They are a bundle of energy and we loved visiting with them!! Hopefully we'll get them to Maine this summer! Chris is a pilot for JetBlue and they are considering a move to North of Boston / Southern New Hampshire - YES PLEASE!!!
