Wyatt's top molars have come in. His bottom molars are coming in now.
A few months ago (when his top molars were coming in), Wyatt came home from school claiming his tooth feel out. What was in the little chest from school was a small piece of tooth. Weird, bazaar. We didn't give it any thought. A few days later apparently another piece fell out of his mouth in the middle of the night. Wyatt added this piece to the little chest from school. We were still at a loss for what was really going on.
Fast forward to yesterday. Wyatt's fingers are constantly in his mouth. He claims his tooth is loose and it's his molar. So last night after he brushes his teeth, I take a good look at this mouth.
So here's what's going on. His molar is coming in and looks fine. In the gum tissue that is starting to rupture above the molar is a small detached piece of tooth. A little tooth nugget. Once the gums pull away more from the molar this little nugget will have nothing to hold on to and will fall out.
I've never heard of this and can't find any information on it. The kids go to the dentist in a few weeks so I'll be sure to ask them.
